To help promote the fourth year of the project, Commoner was engaged to bring to life three 'relove' stories featuring a few of Australia's most influential voices in the furniture and design community.
The act of restoring furniture has a wealth of rich visual opportunities, and we wanted to balance that with a more human perspective - giving each character the chance to express their own unique take on the process and their motivations behind their own work.
The shoot was constructed with a small, nimble crew. We opted for stand up interviews rather than sit down to create a more accessible and natural look, and the finishing sound design elevates the tactile elements of the designer's process.
As many of our clients opt to do, we created a number of different executions to tie in with the agencies' social and advertising campaigns, with shorter cuts for Instagram which are less reliant on each character's vocal story, and longer 60s cuts for Youtube.
